Jagrik name – Sumi Ghosh and Ankita Ghosh

Cohort number - 1

Task – (FD2CG1) – Conduct a health awareness drive for few hours each day after school in two neighborhoods with a large number of people from communities other than your own. Share information and build awareness with atleast 25 people on basic mental and physical health, hygiene, share and clean drinking water issues etc. (area specific issues can be taken up).

Experience-

The peers jointly carried out their task on 19.01.2020. They visited 25-30 houses in communities other than their own to spread awareness on physical health, hygiene, clean drinking water issues and also about measures needed to be taken to reduce mosquito borne diseases. They even took the signature of the persons who attended their awareness program.

Learning-

They had the impression that all the people are well aware of the measures related to health, hygiene and clean waters but while carrying out the task, they came to know that many villagers are not at all aware of these measures. Speaking with so many persons also help them to boost their confidence level.

Challenges –

During the starting of the task, they faced a lot of problems. Some people are not interested to listen to them and are avoiding them. Since it was their first task, so they are lacking confidence and it was a little hard for them to make people understand the issues.
