Covid-19
During the lockdown JMECT organized several activities in the community people, our livelihood volunteers, educational facilitator engaged in different field for helping people. JMECT organized awareness program on CoViD-19 through leaflet distribution between rural people, different digital network like WhatsApp, Zoom call etc. In the area of North Salmara Sub Division, JMECT supportedabout 50 villagesand at least 2200 family relief food distribution for feeding the hunger during the situation on pandemic.During the pandemic our employee worked hard for help the poor people at door step.During CoViD-19 one major issue raised in the entire world and that is the world school are closed. This pandemic badly affected the world education and for the developing country like India is affected very badly. The school of India shutdown and there is no chance of school open till new year. Due to the situation we cannot stay backthat’s why we took a major decision on taking online classes and though student haven’t cell phone, our educational facilitator is teaching them on home base system with proper following the norms of government of India for this pandemic.With this initiative JMECT is teaching about 650 students daily with proper management. And we tried to solve the problem faced in taking classes with discussion.
Challenges:During the period we face different types of problem and that are given below-
- The number of student, who have WhatsApp or other Social Platform is very less.
- The guidance of student is illiterate and have no idea about online or digital classes.
- Some of parent, student share useless videos and this is very irritating us.
- Some guidance is not cooperating due to the lack of awareness on children pedagogy.
- Face different types of communicative gap like mobile data issue, mobile network issue and electricity cut etc.
- The student was from different classes, that’s why it was very difficult to get the answer from every student in a particular story video or any think else.
- Face different types of natural digester issues like cyclone, sky thunder etc.
- Mobile network data package was a big challenges arise in communicate with the student.
Overcome the Challenges:
- Those who haven’t smart phone, we communicate them via phone call and we tried to get the homework or some other task as much possible.
- First day of the online class, we communicate all the 160 students parent and told them about the aim and objectives of the digital or online class. We tried heard too aware of the current situation raise from CoViD-19.
- Some of the parent shared some useless video on WhatsApp group, I as a project manager personally call them and make them to understood about the importance of the group and requested them not to share video like that.
- Lack of awareness some parent, they used to go out during lockdown with mobile phone.
- We tried to teach some student’s parent about children pedagogy.
- Because of the student from different classes in a same group, it was little difficult to understood the topic. That’s why we guide them to understood the own topic via phone call.
- During lockdown mobile data was a big issue because of not available of digital shop. We called them and guide them to recharge with own mobile phone.
Outcome of Bongaigaon online class:
- The parent is built concern about children’s education and fully cooperate us to run the classes and we can able to build a good repo with them.
- The student has given effort to learn and they seem to enjoy it rather than boring.
- The school teacher helps us to keep on right track and also they appreciate us about our work during the pandemic situation.
- We can able to teach about 160 students during the pandemic. We have done successfully hold those children with their studies.
- The student was presented in every session and they gave the answer of the questions regularly.
