Task – (FD6CG1) – Identify at least 3 girls/women in your community who married before the legal age. Analyze reasons for this. Attempt convincing the families to complete their school education at least.

Experience –

 The peers carried out their task in their community and had identified 3 girls who married before the legal age.

1. Ashika Parvin’s family is very poor and uneducated. Her parents got influenced by their neighbors and got their daughter married. But the marriage didn’t worked and now she is staying with her parents and completing her education.
2. Mampi Hazra was in love with a boy and she eloped with her. Later they married without informing their parents.
3. Nafisa Khatun’s family got her married in a childhood age because of her beauty. Later the marriage didn’t worked and now she is staying with her parents and is getting her education.

Learning –

They learnt about the legal age of marriage. They also came to know about the consequences of such marriages and why it should be stopped and what is importance of proper education. This task also helped them in courage and confidence building

Challenges –

When they visited their community, many families weren’t co-operating with them as they were afraid of any further problems including legal cases. Even the families they interviewed didn’t allow them to get photographed.
