Organizing an exposure trip to visit local water bodies to assess the sources of water pollution and preparing a report on such

Task – (FD4CG2) – Organize an exposure trip for at least 10 students to visit the local water bodies to assess the sources of water pollution and prepare a report on the time. Present the same to 30 adolescents and their parents and write to the NGT/ concerned duty bearer.

Experience –

The peers organized an exposure trip for at least 10 student6s to visit the local water bodies to assess the sources of water pollution. They listed out the following reasons behind the pollution:

  1. Washing of clothes in ponds
  2. Bathing of cattle in ponds
  3. Washing of dishes in ponds
  4. Draining of household waste water

They also enlisted the ways to prevent such pollution.

  1. Stopping people from washing clothes and dishes in ponds
  2. Stopping people from bathing in ponds
  3. To build proper drainage system to stop drainage of household waste waters.

After assessing the sources of water pollution, they presented the same with other jagriks and asked them to convey the massages to other people including their parents. Later they also spoke to the gram panchayat and are waiting for result.

Learning –

They learnt about the reasons behind the pollution of water bodies and also the ways to prevent such.

Challenges –

When they visited the gram panchayat, they were very afraid and was not sure whether they will see the report or not. But later when the concerned person took the report and assured them to look into the matter,  they were overjoyed and this helped to build a lot of confidence and courage within them.
